Warriors have final full practice of 2016

The Warriors had their final full practice of the season this morning. There will be a walk-through practice tomorrow, and then the Hawaii Bowl on Saturday.

“I don’t think they realized it yet,” coach Nick Rolovich said of his players, “but come Monday, when they’re not grabbing their helmet out of their locker and all that stuff, that’s the stuff you miss.”

Rolovich said a coach’s duties leave little time for reflection. “That’s the good thing about football in college,” Rolovich said. After the season “you get into recruiting, then spring ball is coming. There’s no time to sit back and feel sorry for yourself. You have to keep moving forward.”

But Rolovich admitted to missing his playing days. “I wish I could line up right now and take on (middle linebacker) Jahlani (Tavai) in goal-line drill,” Rolovich said, smiling.

Asked if he had a post-football activity, Rolovich said: “My family.”

Did Kalen Hicks end up redshirting this year or did he burn his redshirt by playing in a game?

Kalen Hicks burned his redshirt year in October, when he got in the game against Air Force.

Come Saturday I hope the Warriors took a cue from the Idaho Vandals. Idaho just put on an “effort clinic” at the expense of the CSU Rams! The Vandals just vanquished the heavily favored and somewhat more talented CSU team. To put it bluntly-“you play to win the game!”

All of the stuff leading up to the game means absolutely nothing and will leave a sour

Can’t remember ever having an early “10” before. Got every hundred up to 600 in the old days, but this lifts the blog into double digits today. Good night! 🙂
