the misused phrase, “drive with aloha” is debunked!

driving on Oahu today is radically different than in say, 1960, where drivers were courteous to others – allow others to cut in – not close the gap like today; or wave a hand to “thank” the other driver for allowing space to cut in – not a thankful wave by 95% of drivers; many who “force” their way into a very small space

I bet the same applies to drivers in/around Aloha Stadium on UH game day

ow, well, Honolulu is nothing more than a “large” US city.

    so sad — so bad

eye wonda wot football coaches are recruiting for 2017 and beyond?

OL line? D line? QB? RB? DB? Receivers?

wat, in dare opinion is da mos pressing nead?

eye can hea my late Mom yelling as her grand kids ran around the kitchen and out of da house – ” gun fun it, no slam da doa”!!! each and every day of our short visits — yet, she always cherished our visits — kinda crazy with 8-10 of them running around!

  13. A-House June 19, 2016 10:42 am

big oopppppsssssssss on #13 — should be A-House!!!!

  14. A-House June 19, 2016 10:43 am

if you were the 2 Aussie being recruited by Michigan and Hawaii, which would you pick? hands down Michigan with a proven, well known HC over a new HC at Hawaii who plays in a mid-major conference

it is about selfishness on Power5 prestige and amenities and opponents and 108,000 fans screaming their heads off — don’t worry about the cold of winter vs the warmth of Hawaii — be game breaker in being the first Aussie to play at Michigan

    UH got no chance!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. A-House June 19, 2016 10:51 am

thus, should UH coaching staff pursue the very top notch or concentrate on 2 or 3 levels lower where chances are better to secure commitments?

There is no Steven Wright MLB rookie cards. From what I can tell, there are only minor league cards when he was a Cleveland Indians farmhand.

Will the world cease to exist if Wright wins the Cy Young?

Al Chase used to include traitors, I mean, players that transferred to other programs in his Minor League Report.

Kyle Dowdy pitched as a freshman for Coach Trapasso in 2012. He, along with David Longview, ditched us. Dowdy and Longview went on to pitch for the Houston Cougars.

Proving once again that Trapasso can recruit(getting them motivated to play is another issue), Dowdy is currently in the Detroit Tigers organization, throwing up a 2.40 ERA with four victories as a part-time starter in Class A ball(West Michigan).

Does anybody know why Breland Almadova can’t hook up with another team. How do you go from being a spring training non-roster invitee for the Diamondbacks to being cut from Visalia?

37th round, yes, but he has a career minor league batting average of .273.

  25. Turfwar June 19, 2016 1:49 pm

If you were the Aussies who have never played the game before woIld you have a better chance to play here or against some of the most polished recruits in the country.

#15 I disagree politely that you cannot assume that UH has no chance. You never know until you put the effort and commitment to try to get the best you can for the program. I’m an old guy and don’t like when we assume things.

    # 28 oldtimer808…..me agree you…recruiting is salesmanship…pure n simple…your strong points against others weak points in this case….

There chances o getting on the field at Michigan the first 2 years are just about NIL…for Michigan it is about “insurance” for 3rd n 4th year…maybe even red shirt….

For us it is immediate help…..for Michigan it is chasing championships….not that much time for coaches devoted to spend teaching basics….we have…we can…we will….

    oldtimer808… can me “assume” u r old ? …he he he

Hope all you dad’s out there had a Happy Father’s day yesterday…n for those that are still trying to be a dad…..GOOD LUCK….come n visit Manila !
