From previous thread, Mahalo Maverick for starting the ball rolling to get OCS to keep the player introductions! And for everyone else to pitch in I even had people at my workplace to join in.

Good luck and good game to the Bows! Especially our seniors Magill “The Thrill” and “Hammertime” TMO. May you both have an outstanding game tonight! GO BOWS!

If you don’t have a white, Warriors t-shirt, check out Walmart. They’re inexpensive. I think I paid $9 for one.

Just heard over the radio that Norm Chow was fired. Perhaps now UH can give scheduling priority to the Wahine rather than the football team.

Re the side note, I’m wondering if this process is why some comments are posting then disappearing and reappearing later. Been having issues for over a week now (posting from a legit, longterm e-mail address).

    6. I totally agree with you. Next year we should have more home matches in November. It sure would help with recruiting. Who wants to go on six consecutive matches on the road at the end of the season? Volleyball really got the short shrift. Why is Dav Shoji so accommodating to football and basketball? This is really unfair to his players and I’m surprised that they are not grumbling about it. Volleyball is due higher priority next year, especially since it is the most revenue producing sport at UH.

From the WHO CARES or MORNING AFTER Department:

UH played against conference opponents with RPIs of 239 and 299, and we can only hope their nonconference opponents stayed the course – if they did there’s an * in front of their name — for Na Wahine to remain @ 23 RPI come Monday morning.

*American (22-6, 13-0 PLC) … This week: 10/27 W over Navy … 10/30 W over Holy Cross …. 10/31 W over Army West Point …. Standings: American will win the 9-team Patriot League Conf. BUT league does have a PLC Tournament to determine who gets the automatic bid to the Postseason.

*CSU Bakersfield (10-12, 8-2 WAC) … This week: 10/29 W over Seattle U … 10/31 W over Utah Valley … Standings: CSU-Bakersfield in 2nd place in 8-team WAC behind New Mexico St (21-5, 10-0) but meet NMS this Thursday; should Bakersfield lose, their only chance will be to win the WAC Tournament for the automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.

    E. Washington (14-9, 9-3 Big Sky) … 10/29 LOST to Montana … 10/30 W over Montana St …. Standings: E. Washington (9-3) stands atop the 6-team North Division, and is 1 of 4 teams to have clinched a spot in the top-8-team Big Sky Conf. Tournament along with Idaho (11-13, 8-4) of the North Division, Northern Arizona (21-4, 11-1) of the stronger 6-team South Division, and Idaho St (18-8, 10-2) of the South Division.

    *Florida (17-4, 9-3 SEC) … 10/30 W over S. Carolina … 11/01 W over Georgia … Standings: Texas A&M (8-2), Kentucky (8-2), Missouri (7-2), and hitting-its-stride Florida (9-3) are atop the 13-member SEC … Conf. does not have a Tournament.

*Idaho (11-13, 8-4 Big Sky) … 10/29 W over Montana St …. 10/31 W over Montana … Standings: 1 of 4 league teams to clinch a berth in the Big Sky Conf. Tournament … Like East Washington above, Vandals only chance to get an invite to the Big Show is to win the BSC Tournament.

Iowa (11-14, 1-11 Big Ten) … 10/30 LOST to Maryland …. 10/31 W over Rutgers …. Will miracles never cease? Hawkeyes registered its first Big Ten win of the season with a sweep over bottom-feeder Rutgers (4-20, 1-11) … Standings: Minnesota (19-3, 10-1), Penn St (21-2, 10-2), Nebraska (19-4, 9-3), Purdue (17-6, 8-4), Ohio St (19-5, 8-4), Wisconsin (16-6, 8-4) … 14-crew league does not have a Big Ten Tournament and is on target to sending a record number of teams to the NCAA Championship.

Oregon St (4-18, 2-10 Pac-12) … 10/30 LOST to Colorado … 11/01 LOST to Utah … Beavers BOAST THE NATION’S 5th-TOUGHEST STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE, according to the NCAA, but nothing to boast of their RPI of 124 or their 0% chance of getting a bid to the NCAA Championship … Pac-12 does not have a Pac-12 Tournament.

San Diego St (7-18, 4-8 MWC) … 10/29 LOST to Colorado St … 10/31 LOST to Wyoming … Standings: Colorado St (19-3, 12-0) leads the 11-team Mountain West and will get the automatic bid to The Dance; Utah St (5-21, 1-11), San Diego St, Nevada (9-15, 4-8), San Jose St (12-13, 4-8), and Air Force (11-15, 4-7) would be doing the “whip—nae nae” if they could end their season with a .500 conference record … League doesn’t have a MWC Tournament, which means San Diego St has a 0% chance of postseason play.

UCLA (18-3, 9-2 Pac 12) … 10/30 W over Washington St … 11/01 LOST to Keegan Cook’s Washington, thus ending their 8-match winning streak … Standings: Top 4 teams are USC (23-1, 11-1), which saw the nation’s only D-1 perfect record come to an end in Seattle and which saw a last-minute (3-2) escape in Pullman thanks to Samy Bricio’s move into 1st place on USC’s career point ladder (2,267 points), Washington (20-2, 10-2), UCLA (18-4, 9-3), and Stanford (15-5, 9-3) … League does not have a Pac-12 Tournament.

*Wichita St (19-6, 10-1 MVC) … 10/31 W over Missouri St … Standings: Shockers should win the 10-team Missouri Valley Conference BUT MVC does have a MVC Tournament to determine who gets the automatic bid to SHOWTIME.

    6. Chow had nothing to do with the FB or VB schedule. It is the Mountain West that schedules football. Volleyball waits on that in order not to conflict with football. Has been going on long before Chow was coach.

    8. AGAIN, it was Shoji reworking the schedule to accommodate the VB fans. He didn’t want to play on Wednesdays or Sundays at 1 p.m. or even on a football Saturday which happened for the first time. How quickly people seem to forget what a disaster that was.
Volleyball is not the most revenue producing sport.

    7. possibly. I don’t know. I don’t see all comments and I think some get cleared over night so I never see some.
Just know we are revamping and the security stuff being upgraded.
