“#2 Texas upset on the road by Tex Tech 3-0.”
Cindy. Read my statement carefully. You always try to parcel words. Whats up?

  5. afg October 28, 2015 4:08 pm

That was a shocker. Great win for a scrappy TCU team.

  6. Koleni October 28, 2015 4:18 pm

#4 Texas played Texas Christian aka TCU

  7. Maverick October 28, 2015 4:19 pm

    4. Seriously you owe Cindy an apology. Texas Texh didn’t beat Texas, it was TCU.

  8. Cindy Luis October 28, 2015 4:34 pm

    4. Did read it carefully. What’s up is that you had the wrong school beating Texas.
I went to Texas’ website to make sure because I get scores via Rich Kern’s service and what I got was TCU from him
Texas does play Texas Tech next.

  9. H-Man October 28, 2015 4:37 pm

I thought Ohio St was really good, but Penn St made short work of them. Looks like Penn St might be serious threat of repeating as national champ. Russ Rose seems to always make the right adjustments.

MAV, stand down. Im not in the mood for a kibitzer.

  11. kimo browner October 28, 2015 5:03 pm

#7. The point is Tex lost. It was played in Ft Worth and I mistankely thought it was home of texas tech. I wouldnt have blogged except for the fact the blog was empty and I thought to contribute. Big deal. Do not ever condescend to me again brother.

  12. Cindy Luis October 28, 2015 5:36 pm

    11. KB, the point was you were mistaken and your initial reaction to being corrected was

    4. Cindy. Read my statement carefully. You always try to parcel words. Whats up?

Not sure what parcel words means.

No need to get on Maverick’s case either.

How about if we all just move on? I appreciate that you put up some scores while I was at practice

  13. Cindy Luis October 28, 2015 5:40 pm

Currently in action and on the Pac-12 Network if you can get it. or game tracker

  14. Cindy Luis October 28, 2015 5:49 pm

but speaking of practice, Burns has been fully cleared to participate. Higgins said she was close to 100 percent.

  15. islandman October 28, 2015 5:52 pm

Does he mean to “parse” words ?

  16. Maverick October 28, 2015 5:57 pm

Kimo you need to grow up. I don’t know any other poster who dishes it out but can’t take it in like you do. The point is that you were condescending to Cindy, and you didn’t even follow your own advice to her (boy don’t you look brilliant). It’s your M.O. to go after people who criticize you, because you can’t take it. Either you are defensive or insecure or both. You’re in the wrong and you can’t accept it. You want to challenge me, go ahead and bring it on.

  17. Cindy Luis October 28, 2015 6:04 pm

Let’s just let it go, please
Mav, appreciate your defense but would appreciate it if there is no more name calling or calling out someone. Take it outside to VT if you need to.
I really don’t want another word fight here.

  18. Cindy Luis October 28, 2015 6:06 pm

    15. that would be my guess
    7. Stanford completes the sweep of ASU, 25-17, 25-23, 25-9

  19. Maverick October 28, 2015 6:17 pm

    17. Will do. Feel free to delete 10, 11, and 16 above.

  20. greenthumb October 28, 2015 7:09 pm

14 … good news about Burns and Higgins. Hoping that Burns can still preserve her redshirt/medical redshirt year if that’s the plan she and Shoji have worked out. In any case, bet she’s beyond relieved about being cleared to practice. It must have felt like forever for her.

    #17 Too funny!

  22. Reggie October 28, 2015 8:54 pm

Well, Penn State would move up to number two and now it’s a question of whether Texas will drop below Hawaii. The Wahine have had only two road matches all year, compared to like at least five for all other teams in the AVCA top 25. Of course November will make it up, so that the Wahine will end up with 8 road matches altogether. We are hoping, praying and everything else that we can, that The Wahine’s only loss this season will be against Mike Sealy’s Lady Bruins. Imagine if the Wahine were undefeated, then they may be in the top four by now. Of course the immense pressure that would bring would not be great. The drive for five is still alive!! Kawika and Erik have grown up and won their National Championship at Stanford, with their proud Dad watching from the stands! Now it’s the Wahine that needs to make our State proud again!! Let’s go ‘bows, let’s go ‘bows, let’s go ‘bows !!! The 5,500 we are averaging this year will not fit into tiny Klum Gym, which is still standing in the lower campus. If anyone is interested, I graduated from the UH in 1981.

    19. thank you.

To St. AT for what was 21-21, again, no need to call people out or make fun of them. deleted the comments for that reason.
    Let’s move on.

  24. Russ October 29, 2015 2:40 am

Aloha Cindy. Mahalo for all you do. I appreciate the updates, scores and comments. After seeing you openly disrespected on this thread, and given no apology when you are right and the poster is wrong, I cannot stop by anymore to visit your Volleyshots Blog and see this kind of behavior. There are all kinds of people who can post so I know it’s difficult to control. I actually think you are too kind to the rude and negative posters. In my opinion this posters behavior is not welcome to the world of Wahine Volleyball. So I will choose to boycott the Volleyshots Blog until there is more appropriate posts and behavior. I’m sure my post here will be deleted, but I just wanted you to know that although I am a big fan of the Wahine Volleyball team, the Volleyshots Blog has problems. Mahalo again for all you do and take care. Let’s go Bows!

24, Whooa….. I’m not sure your reply helps. This Blog is a wonderful source of high speed volleyball information posted by some very informative minds. The past weeks posts by both KB and Mav and others on RPI were enlightening to those who do not have the time to look up this type of information. It clarified so much at least for me on how these polls work.

Now back on point, it was not so much that it was Tech or TCU that upset Texas, it was the fact that Texas was upset by a team that was out of the polls. I agree with KB on this. In reading the dialog and having delt with electronic banter in the corporate world at all levels for a couple of decades, i can only say we need to be mindful, intended or not, that our replies if not framed correctly while coming from higher sources, may be construed a “one-upmanship” . IMO Perhaps a better reply would have been “What an upset but i believe it was Texas Tech”. Of course its just my opinion.

Bottomline: we lose productive dialog and information when we move focus off from the information provided. I sure hope we don’t lose any valuable future insight on the technical aspects of VB as well as the insights provided on Na Wahine by losing blog posters who have so much knowledge.

  26. mo-jo October 29, 2015 7:20 am

my bad…. meant TCU as the winner above… LOL.

  27. Cindy Luis October 29, 2015 7:24 am

    24. appreciate the feedback and sorry you feel as you do. agree that sometimes the posters don’t always respect others but for the most part it has been pretty mild.
I’ve seen much worse on other sites.

    25. sorry to disagree with you but when getting back ‘on point’ the point was the information given was incorrect. and when that was pointed out the reaction turned somewhat hostile towards me and others. So I won’t apologize for writing ‘actually it was TCU over Texas’ instead of framing it as you suggested with a ‘believe it was …’

It’s how I would have said it to someone in person and you would have known by the inflection of voice that it was not a one-upmanship.

Unfortunately intent of written words often can be misinterpreted. there was nothing more intended in the statement other than to clear up the error and get back to writing my story.

Perhaps some of my replies come off as short but I am usually in the middle of work and check back on the blog when I have time. and what I have time for are quick responses, particularly when getting information correct.

This blog is an open forum, if it weren’t the ability for others to post would not be allowed. I appreciate the knowledgeable fans and the info given out. but when it becomes disrespectful and digresses to the point of schoolyard name calling, the line needs to be drawn
