No casual Friday

Fridays used to be casual.

For the Warriors, a typical Friday was classes, a walk-through session, dinner at Kapiolani Community College, and meeting at a Waikiki hotel, where they stayed overnight.

Following a national trend, the Warriors now abbreviate Thursday’s practices to mostly special-teams drills, then have a more extensive non-contact, non-pad practice on Friday afternoons.

The new format enables the players to keep active while learning some last-minute plays. It also enables ailing players held out of practices Tuesday and Wednesday to get an extra workout.

Must be an age thing because similar to sex…sometimes, just can’t get excited and up for this game.

Winning would help, and ease the sexual frustration. 😆

    GO WAHINE!
    GO RAINBOW WARRIORS!

Too funny! UH Football needs the blue pill?

  6. H-Man October 9, 2015 10:36 am

I think the old “80-20 Rule” applies. 80% the coaching staff needs to put players in position to succeed; 20% the players need to execute. And cut down on those penalties!

  7. SteveM October 9, 2015 11:25 am

    Good morning everyone!

New format? what new format? Guess I gotta go read the paper… 😐
    Hopefully more practice makes perfect.

I don’t think it wise to broadcast health issues. But then I would like to know about DSJ-the fact that Magnum 44 is gonna line up says something. I think Chung and Jason M gettin a shot is good. So let’s go kick some tail!

  10. kev-1 October 9, 2015 11:47 am

A lot of people have been asking about DSJ, but I have yet to see an answer. Maybe I just missed it?

Is he eligible for a redshirt? I wonder if that is part of why he hasn’t played.

  11. papajoe2 October 9, 2015 11:50 am

What about Jo. Parese(sp?). He hardly plays but few times he does go in, he seems to be productive.

  12. Arcumfortis October 9, 2015 12:05 pm

Washington’s win over USC and Boise’s win over Washington says something about the quality of team Boise has. Playing in Boise after all of our travel and the intense schedule was a recipe for disaster. And disaster it was. I would love the Warriors to have a second chance at Boise as I think we can do better. Win…..doubt it…..but playing competitively I think is possible. The possibility of this chance starts tomorrow. We gotta win. Simple as that.

  14. Old School Dave October 9, 2015 12:47 pm

Interesting factoid that Idaho used to be the main team in the Potato state. The Vandals used to belong to the Pacific Coast Conference (PCC) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific_Coast_Conference#Conference_members)made of Pac-8 schools up until 1959 (when Jerry Kramer played there). Boise was just a junior college at the time, while Idaho State was a 4-year school.

  16. warrior650 October 9, 2015 1:33 pm

UH 4 – SDSU 3. Warriors win on a walk-off bunt single. Or, UH defense gets 2nd safety of the game late in 4th Q to put it away, while holding Aztecs to lone field goal. Offense goes 12 quarters without scoring.

  17. warrior650 October 9, 2015 1:35 pm

And yes, #15 was a joke. Real prediction, UH 16, SDSU 7

  18. mctruck October 9, 2015 2:45 pm

    JimmydaLuck, ur#3,

Ditto, same boat as U except never at all; shushhhhh, don’t tell the ladies.

Keep hoping for UH to ride the miracle-train, got many games to go, come on boys.

  19. papajoe2 October 9, 2015 3:30 pm

If the game is very low scoring, it will probably mean that UH’s defense is on the field for too long and will run out of gas in the 4th quarter, thus SD State will probably score a few tds late. True, it will mean that the Aztecs “d” is also on the field a lot, but aren’t we the worst offense in D1 in the nation?

DaMenehune … Makes sense it is something like that … Laughing in the face of superstition and winning is good too.

  32. z October 9, 2015 10:01 pm

Talk about Menehune. Moanalua put up 58 points against Leilehua. At the ennd they even subbed in 2 girls who played on the oline. I don’t think I have ever seen that before.

  33. winning October 9, 2015 10:14 pm

Someone said that SD’s #1 RB will play. Ahh whats the scoop on that? Havent seen it posted in LV yet. Anybody know?

  34. Maddog50 October 10, 2015 4:03 am

Pumphrey is supposed to travel and if he is going to play you will see him early-that is according to Rocky Long in his presser. Bottom line whether he plays or not gotta have a physically dominating game on both side and score at least 4x on O for a victory!
