OC Sports stream hasn’t started yet. Usually starts half hour before the match for the pregame show.
I’ve got the same thing. I switched straight to OC-16 instead of BigWest and they are just showing the bumper, no video feed. Maybe there’s no Game On?
Send them email and they said Game On is on. I sent them another email that it may be on TV but it is not streaming on their live stream site. Awaiting response.
Now I have a feed coming through Bigwest but not OC-16.

Really glad that other players are stepping up. Nikki struggling a little, thats fine, no one is gonna have an awesome night every night, don’t care how good you are and it’s really awesome to see them working the middles. Maglio is KILLING it. Passing is really great so they can run those middles! Keep it up ladies, get used to stepping it up, no team can rely on just one player every single game. Go bows!

I’m glad the reserves are starting to see the court, particularly Castillo. A couple of receive errors but I like her upside…first kill, first block of her UH career. Maglio and Magill have practically unstoppable with some really heavy kills. I’d like to see Mitchem in set 3 to get her some experience. Great diversification of the offense, and Taylor basically has a night off from any heavy duty.
Strange Kahakai only 2 digs. Nikki and Tai with 6 each.
Everyone has played except for Mitchem. I’m expecting her in Set 3
I’d like to see Dave sit Nikki Taylor and Olivia Magill for set 3. We know what they can do, let the reserves play and get into a groove. Know its not gonna happen though.

Maglio has closed the gap between her and Magill. I think not starting against Florida (then coming in) lit a fire under Maglio and then doing well against Florida helped her confidence.
30. Difficult to tell given the undersized competition. Let’s see how she does against LBSU and Poly.
31. True, but Nikki Taylor, TMO, and Kalei Greeley aren’t exactly lighting it up against the “undersized competition”.
32. What does that have to do with Maglio closing the gap with Magill? Your comparison was between middles, not middles vs. outsides. Maglio hitting .692 and Magill hitting .667. Clearly Bakersfield can’t match up with out middles.
33. I also commented on Maglio’s confidence and YOU brought up the undersized competition (which downplayed the improvement I feel she has made). I was counter pointing that other players aren’t doing great against the same undersized competition.
In my comparison to Magill, I’m stating that Maglio’s play has improved…her movement along the net and the range of her attacks.

34. Maybe because the focus has been on the outsides vs. the middles. As I said above, Bakersfield can’t match up with our middles (Mitchem hit for .429). All our middles did well…that’s the point. So any perceived improvement in Maglio’s game is difficult to tell absent more robust competition.

Overall a much better team performance as compared to Friday night. Not only because of the sweep and play of reserves, but also the diversification of the offense against a team in a rematch. Usually, rematches are closer than first matches because of adjustments that losing teams make after the first meeting.
haha seriously, is there ever gonna be a time where people aren’t pointing out the things certain players aren’t doing well? like honestly just put a lid on it, bottom line is Higgins put the middles to work tonight, which was so fun to see. she gave Nikki a break tonight which was what everyone was waiting to see happen.
i think Higgins should go to her middles often, it was great seeing Maglio play awesome tonight.
Bakersfield, yeah they are good, i have to admit that i would pick them to win their conference possibly. although the over celebrating was honestly ridiculous to me. it’s not bad to be happy and excited, but they just over celebrated, and i was seriously trying to figure out why the refs wouldn’t tell them to calm down at least.
Woa, lol I feel bad for Maglio right now, she’s on tv interviewing, she looks like a deer in headlights haha. That was an awkward interview, but maybe she’s shy? Wonder what chris, jordan, & ryan were thinking during the interview, in any case, maybe she can leave all her statements on the floor and not even have to bother saying words after the games?!

Maglio looked really nervous in that interview. You can tell some players are better at that kind of thing than others. Nikki Taylor is very good at interviews for exmaple.
39. I didn’t mind the Roadrunners celebrating their winning points wildly. They were such underdogs so it’s natural that they would go on overdrive when they got a point. Actually I was even happy for them though I’m a Rainbow Wahine fan, just to see them so joyful for a while. I wouldn’t begrudge them a little celebration. They made the match quite interesting and I commend them for undertaking a long road trip knowing that they were so over-matched here. They played better than we expected.

Mmm mmm good! It was the middle show tonight,cGill, Maglio, and Mitchem. This was the missing ingredient to the Wahine offensive attack. Now if they can carry the passing into the tougher matches, Higgins should have the confidence to go to the middles more.
Maglio’s post game interview was as painful as it was cute. If she keeps doing what she did tonight, that should improve as her game has.
When Nikki was blocked the first two attempts, Hawaii went to the middles with considerable success. Obviously, Bakersfield was stacking the outsides, especially Taylor. That left the middles relatively open. Good to see Hawaii taking what was given. All three middles had outstanding matches; glad to see Annie Mitchem finally getting some good swings and scoring the last three points.

#40 Remembering 3x AA Emily Hartong first interview, she also was quite shy like Maglio. And as we all know, by the time Hartong graduated, she was doing great interview after interview including Leahey & Leahey appearance on Hawaii Public TV. Emily Maglio did great – and she will get better on her interview. Annie Mitchem also came in to pound some balls. Future is bright with both these MHs.
Tai did well tonight. She dug a lot. She also saved a lot of balls on the second touch. I wouldn’t say the outsides did not do well. The middles were played unexpectedly and were able to score. The outsides did well and did their part.
#47 Agree, Tai passed well and received well. She is finally steadying out. Believe she needs to continue to have fun and play relax – and not try to kill the ball, because that is when she plays her best ball. Just place it – you have too power as it is. Though they were avoiding Kahakai but she popped up two great ones in the end. She continues to be aggressive and take control of backcourt defense – outstanding! She is everything that we all have hoped for.

note friday wahine may have dominated sets 1 and 2 comparing to really only set 2 today. but thats because bakersfield was chillin and hurting themselves. no doubt wahine got bored on set 3 after chillin and killin it through the first two sets.
onto conference play. wahine better not be chillin again including on sets vs fullerton and riverside.
We played much better tonite than Friday. Bakersfield remind me a little about our team of old (they had only 1 player above 6’0″-#13)…scrappy but just over matched by bigger and talented Hawaii of today…Really like how our 3 Middles were involved tonite…they all played well but I continue to like the way Maglio continues to move to the outside pins to form the double block with the OH…she has got that one down the best in my opinion….Mitchem and Maglio will be 2 awesome middle next year…Great to see all the DS play tonite. I really like Castillo #17. Although she got aced twice, we need to spend more time getting her in for Nikki or TMO…I can see her breaking out just like Greeley did last year…I actually think she can hit a pretty hard ball as a Frosh…As the year progresses, she may become the person to replace the player (OH) who is struggling, tired, or injured (of which I pray doesn’t occur)…but you need to always be prepared…Well, here comes the BIG Wild WEST Conference…Like always every match will be difficult cause of scouting reports/film this year and previous years…This season seems to be moving really fast!!

The truth is Emily Maglio is a shy young “18” year old. She let her actions on the court do her talking. I thought she was very cute.

Maglio is very shy. don’t know how it was on TV but she was tearing up in the media room, particularly when asked what it means to be part of this program. Said it was life-changing.
Passing much better tonight which allows them to run the middle. Shoji talked a little about wanting to have that second middle more involved (Magill’s a given). Thought Higgins had nice set distribution.
Taylor was 1-3-8 after Set 1. finished 11-3-24. Maglio 12-3-18 including 6-0-6 in Set 2.
Someone mentioned Kahakai only 2 digs after Set 2. She finished with eight, was very solid in Set 3.

Emily is a very shy and private person. Tongo’s observation was right on the money. I am sure we will be seeing her being interviewed many times over the next several years. I liked seeing Castillo getting a chance to show what see can do. Tai has relaxed enough where she is now fun to watch. This is also true of Savanna who can dig anyone. Would have liked to have seen more of Kendra but still over-all progress is good . Next weekends’ matches will tell us a lot.
52. Dave said in an earlier interview that Mags was the best blocker of the three. I also see her potential on the slide. It is there. Good to see Annie getting a few swings too.
The shiest Wahine of all time has got to be Robyn. She always declined on camera interviews whether by the broadcast crew or news stations covering the game. Can anyone remember her giving an on camera interview while she played here? .
Missed the game, but caught the post game show. After her first non-response to Scott’s lead in question, they had to know that she was really nervous and a little overwhelmed. Ryan’s question about beach volleyball was good, but Chris’s hockey question came out of left field and really stumped her. I really cringed when Scott asked her to say “Eh”.
Unlike some other years, one of this teams strengths is it’s middles. Too bad Annie has only 2 years here. I hope she gets more playing at MH or OH. I don’t know if she’ll continue to split time with Maglio, or get used like Kendra, in spot situations. Dave likes to stick to one lineup and not sub a lot, unless we’re in trouble or it’s a blowout.
Team played better, great win, however I’m disappointed that Coach Shoji did not use Kendra in the front row more for Higgins and Clare/ Mckenna in the backrow for Olevao,
Against the tougher teams in the tourney, I don’t think Higgins in the front row will cut it. Giving more playing time to Kendra ( and Clare and Mckenna) against these types of teams will only be more beneficial when the post season comes.
I like that Dave gets Annie in the third sets, she will be starting for sure Next year so she needs all the experience she can get at this level so she’s ready for sure next year.
Emily played awesome, I wish she redshirted last year so we would have her for three more seasons after this.
I don’t expect a lot of movement in the top 15 this week, although UH should rise one spot with Wisconsin’s loss this past week.
Kendra was sitting and had her jacket on after she came out…Was she ill?
I thought Emily did a good job of ignoring Chris and his one time too many mention of her having played hockey in the interview, as if that were somehow special. Maybe if you’re from Hawaii, but it’s second nature to most Canadians. I don’t think he realizes that in Canada just about everyone skates, and that every school has an ice rink, or two or three, and every winter recess and gym class devotes some time to skating and hockey. Since the girls develop before the boys, almost every young pick up team will have some girl on it that out skates the boys. Get over it Chris!
#64 Relationship between Canadians and their devotion to ice hockey is likely second nature to Emily, but probably foreign to most locals in HI and CA. Isn’t the interview about getting the audience to know the player? I thought Chris spooned it up nicely. In either case, we are all very happy for Emily and her breakout performance.
60-64. Was going to get to the Koelsch issue. She missed one practice last week and looked a little pale in warmups. She wasn’t coughing like you saw Granato doing when she was playing but I think when you saw that very un-Koelsch-like set (called for a lift) when she got in early, they decided not to push it. ergo the jacket.
One comment about Mitchem that I didn’t use in the story. Shoji said Mitchem’s favorite set is a slow 1. The problem is at this level she’s not going to be successful with that against taller blocks. so that is one adjustment she’s going to have to make. on the slide she can power it over and through the block. She’s still pretty easy to track on the step-out but she’s elevating well and, especially against the smaller block on that side, it was pretty much money. don’t think we’ll ever see her be as quick as Kaufman or Ljungquist, she is more like Bown.
65. McLachlin was probably trying to get her to open up about her playing hockey on a boys team growing up.
The most satisfying developments from last night’s game was the speed and strength of the kills by magglio and mitchem. I was impressed with higgins’ decision making last night. kahakai’s passing was terrific. I wish that Dave had used Castillo more during preconference as I like the way she moves on the court. She should have used more in place of Olevao, who despite hitting .266 last night still passed badly and hit right into the blocks. This won’t work against good teams.
68. have to disagree with you about Manu-Olevao’s passing. She passed very well last night.
She had 3 hitting errors, was blocked only once, that came early in Set 3. I remember one other error coming in Set 1 when she miss=timed her jump from behind the 3-meter line and it ended up in the net. The other was when she hit wide in Set 2, could have been a touch, not called.
she finished 6-3-11. had one hitting error in each set.

Maglio has quick reflexes near the net and can react to tips over the net from the other team with either tap backs or keeping the ball alive. Was she a goalie in hockey ?
Rodriguez, the Bakersfield libero, had a tough night, 4 service and 4 reception errors along with her 8 digs.
