    Thanks for the pics ST.

Anyone else getting security certificate warnings with the SA website? Can’t access site.

Sorry for the off topic post.

  3. islandman August 15, 2015 9:40 am

Yes, others ( on WSN forum ) have been having problems with the SA site, including seeing logons and email addresses for other subscribers . I emailed the SA webmaster and the Digital Media VP about it.

  4. H-Man August 15, 2015 9:48 am

I got the security alert block, but it appears to have been cleared by SA. I was able to log on without problem.

  5. H-Man August 15, 2015 9:58 am

Thanks ST for the great pics. The pic of Sione Kauhi reminds me there are 5/6 TEs with Tui Unga, as last reported, leading this group. A group now getting crowded, so I wonder if there is thought of moving Dakota Torres to defense. I just hate to see a player on the sideline when he could be contributing elsewhere.

  6. kev-1 August 15, 2015 10:19 am

    mahalo, H-Man and islandman

  7. kev-1 August 15, 2015 10:31 am

So, Paul Harris sounds pretty exciting at RB. What happened to Lakalaka? Haven’t read much about him lately. And I hope DSJ can stay healthy.

After reading the stats from the scrimmage yesterday, seems like Wittek needs to improve his completion percentage. I haven’t had the luxury of attending any practices, but I wonder if it is a QB issue or a receiver issue.

  8. islandman August 15, 2015 10:43 am

Someone noted that the Hawaii Athletics site says Max completed 55 % of his passes in the scrimmage.

  9. bbopper August 15, 2015 11:38 am

yes, I had problems with someone using my blog name posting comments on Ferd’s article on UH opening day attendance. I have since deleted my account and created a new one. Advise others to monitor the blogs.

  10. Warrior_Mom August 15, 2015 11:42 am

    thanks for the pictures!

  11. A-House August 15, 2015 11:47 am

    ST:

are the QBs purposely throwing high and/or wide to make the WR stretch?

nearly 92% of your pics show them jumping or reaching for the ball

  12. A-House August 15, 2015 11:50 am

gave up on trying to go via explorer internet from home to reach the blog

    jus using “chrome”

kinda warm and sunny in the valley today – humid/sticky

soon, will turn on the A/C speaking of which AC Carter an option for a future BB coaching position at UH?

  13. Akamai Okole August 15, 2015 11:56 am

    Great Morning All!

    Congratulations Ratmin (yeesh…#NotHungryNow)!

  14. Akamai Okole August 15, 2015 11:57 am

    A-house,

Imagine one DB in all those pictures…

  15. A-House August 15, 2015 12:02 pm

    3-Prong & Warrior Dave:

in August 1995 – family took a “sports vacation” to Pro football hall of fame; then, Pro BB hall of fame; then, to visit the “Field of Dreams” in Dyersville, IL.

so many memories at the Filed of Dreams field – coming over the rise and seeing the field off to our left {just like the movies}; walking out of the corn field; running the bases; and, of course, buying the “Shoeless Joe Jackson’s” picture with historical message

at the BB hall of fame, overnight, temperature went from the mid-80s to 42% — cold front arrived and was the coldest date on record for August 2 – as soon as we arrived at the “hall”, family took off and purchased, each, a $75 jacket – don’t believe they ever wore it again – cost me $225!

  16. Jeezy33 August 15, 2015 12:03 pm

    ST.
Did Ursua complete that 1 handed grab in the pic?

  17. A-House August 15, 2015 12:05 pm

    Akamai: #13

tried really hard, but just couldn’t find a DB – means passing drill w/o DBs around or the receivers are soooo good they shook’um off!!

    what a dream!!!

  18. Akamai Okole August 15, 2015 12:10 pm

    🙄

  19. H-Man August 15, 2015 12:20 pm

Hawaii Athletics has issued an update that this afternoon’s practice has been moved up to 3pm.

  20. el burro sabio August 15, 2015 12:32 pm

#5 H-Man I’d like to see some two and three tight end formations especially near the goal line.

  21. Akamai Okole August 15, 2015 12:38 pm

Bottom line, this may be the QB1 who can fit it in those kind of windows. The Receivers bettah be up to it….

  22. Da Punchbowl Kid August 15, 2015 2:13 pm

    Howzit Gangeez! 😉

Mahalo to all who entered yesterday. Great to see so many familiar names and some new folks too.
Stay tuned… for more fabulous posts and pics from Stephen and a few more drawings!
Great pics as usual, Mr. Tsai.

  23. Rodney August 15, 2015 2:16 pm

    Saw Max throw TD today
It was perfect in corner end zone.
    Perfect!!!!!!!!#14 caught TD
Corners and safety’s are much better
    then last year.Lots of competing
    going on!! Much more competing!!!!
It’s very obvious this is a nice team
But that schdule going jam things up!
It’s really too bad we cannot catch a break
No bye week in schedule arghhhhh!
    Real bummer!!!!!!!!!!

  24. turkey August 15, 2015 3:43 pm

While Ohio st is understandable, hate how fans are already chalking Boise, Wisc, and Colorado as sure losses too. This team is talented and I’m sure the strong schedule was one of the factors that attracted this talent. Bottom line is these men are motivated beyond belief to play these big teams. We’ve got a very real chance to knock off some of the “big dogs” the same way the uh ball team surprised bigger named opponents earlier this year. Anyway jmho can’t wait for the season guys! Go bows!

  25. ArcumFortis August 15, 2015 3:44 pm

I am always optimistic at the start of the season and I guess it is the same this season. But having been bludgeoned into disappointment and sleep by this team over the last three years I am more cautious in my excitement. But, I do like the way the team is developing and it feels like there are some exciting possibilities. The thought of the UH d- line facing the behemoths on the o-lines of Ohio State, Wisconsin and Boise is scary. But I guess we will see.

I actually would love to see this team play the 2007 schedule. As much fun as the the 2007 team was and as much as I will always remember that season fondly…..it was a really weak schedule. Compared to what we face this year….it is….I dunno.

  26. oneseason August 15, 2015 4:33 pm

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly from Ferd today …

“Meanwhile, Rainbow Wahine season-ticket sales (3,631) are expected to match last year’s total of 3,861, one of the highest in recent years.”

“Season-ticket sales had been running about 14,500 and UH said it expects to reach the 15,000 mark by the season opener, but that would still be well short of the 2014 total, 17,224, which was the previous low.”

“UH officials have been reluctant “to throw out an (attendance) number” for the opener but concede that amid current trends anything above 25,000 through the turnstiles at the 50,000-seat facility might be cause for rejoicing.”

  27. 3-Prong August 15, 2015 4:44 pm

    A-House: BB HOF, das cool.

Summer brew, bottled and labeled. Live oama, ready for tomorrow. Das agood day right dea.

Checking out waipio LL trying to get to World Series with my rally cap on. 4-9 bottom 4. GO WAIPIO!

  28. Tempmanoa August 15, 2015 5:06 pm

I guess that Wittek will boost his pass completion percentage. At 55% completion rate, Wittek would be in the bottom 10 percent of Quarterbacks nationally. I am not expecting Colt Brennan’s 72 percent numbers, but something like Sean Schroeder and Bryan Moniz in the 62-64% range would be good to see.

  29. Ipu Man August 15, 2015 6:39 pm

Hope Max “fakes” his hand-offs better.
He telegraphs the plays by watching the
runner after giving it to him. Well, so did
    Brett Farve.

  30. cappie the dog August 15, 2015 7:37 pm

The minor league player who came out of the closet today is no other than former UH recruit David Denson of the Milwaukee Brewers organization.

    He is batting .227.

Jake Bauers is the guy who could have really helped Hawaii. He is batting .278 with 10 home runs and 66 runs batted in for the Rays’ AA affiliate.

Blake Taylor, who went early, has been plagued by injury.

  31. oneseason August 15, 2015 8:08 pm

I wonder if the shuffle pass will make a comeback this year. It sure seemed to complement the spread offense.

  32. 808warriorfan August 15, 2015 9:51 pm

#26 … “Turkey”… Speaking for myself I am EXPECTING UH to beat Colorado on opening night…no more excuses for not beating a middle of the road PAC12 team

  33. Maddog50 August 16, 2015 5:31 am

Coupla tings. Don’t get too high or low but am very optimistic about this years group. Just asked Tom K to count me in on the tix to UNLV. Does anyone know where most of the folks traveling to the game stay. Third, checkout the Coach Mason clip. Check it the shirt and pay special attention to the “H” on the back-grey insert design a tell regarding the new color theme that has already leaked. Prefer to call it “dull or soft silver” these shirts with that design are born winners and would sell in green or black-gotta get one. Already made a few contacts because they are nowhere to be found. Maybe just a coach edition but these would sell by the truckload! Talk about branding! Go Warriors!!!! Truly could creat an H zone promotion for those owning and wearing to the game. I’m an idea as Micheal Keaton once said- feed salad to the tuna!

  34. mctruck August 16, 2015 5:43 am

Looking for our Warriors to rampage over the Buffalos. Go Warriors.

  35. Shoko August 16, 2015 5:48 am

Wittek’s completion rate at USC was 53%. One can only hope with more reps those numbers will improve and significantly.

In comparison, Woolsey’s completion rate was 50.5% last season.

  36. Inyoface August 16, 2015 7:22 am

    Y’all talking bout practice?

  37. oneseason August 16, 2015 7:25 am

#34 … “808warriorfan” … I agree with the sentiment, but IMO Colorado’s 2 win – 10 loss record last year put them in the PAC 12 ditch, not the middle of the road. They only beat Hawaii (21-12) & Massachusetts (41-38). And UMASS had a 4 Win – 9 Loss season.
