It’s all academic
Tight end Harold Moleni is the Warriors’ 2015 spring valedictorian, earning a 3.9 grade-point average for the recently completed semester. Moleni, who will be a senior this fall, has a 3.81 cumulative GPA.
Left tackle Ben Clarke, a biology major, earned a 3.83 GPA this past semester.
Quarterback Beau Reilly had a 3.82 GPA.
There were 33 Warriors with a spring GPA of 3.0 or better, including 11 who were at 3.5 or better.
Twenty-nine Warriors have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
One of them is safety Marrell Jackson, who has a cumulative GPA of 3.21. Jackson is scheduled to earn a degree in 3.5 years when he graduates in December.

Well done and congrats to the players for their hard work in the classroom! It’s not easy playing, practicing, training, and studying. Like Harold Moleni’s tee shirt, too!
I remember the days when players used to sleep in and only show up in class on test days. Students who regularly attended class had confused looks on their faces saying, “Are all these people/players in our class?”
Good job in the classroom and exam time.

I can complain about many things regarding coach Chow. But his emphasis on getting his players educated is not one of them. For this he deserves respect and thanks. Now if we could only win a few football games!

I found it interesting that the Warriors — that’s Na Koa, that’s you — pay about half-mllion each year for summer school. That’s a real expense. But it also is a good investment. It means guys like Marrell Jackson, Ne’Quan Phillips and Harold Moleni can graduate in seven semesters, which gets them started on the rest of their lives and saves UH money on an eighth semester.

Heard on 1420 that UH Football season tickets go on sale Monday. The UH Athletics website has a somewhat well hidden page that notes: “Season Tickets go on sale June 8, 2015 at 9:00 a.m.”
However, it looks like any football season ticket holder (maybe anyone?) with an ETH account can order Football season tickets online now by going to the “2015 H Club Football and Women’s Volleyball Parking Sale”, then clicking on the “Football Season Tickets” link, then “Find Tickets”. Lots of great seats for sale. Let’s Go Bows!

Yes, Coaches McMackin and Chow have emphasized football athlete graduation. The higher GPA’s today are impressive. The academic emphasis is not surprising since Coach Chow is a Ph.D in Education.
aloha everyone !! one thing for sure about chow as the head coach he has teach all his player this 3 going 4 years about losing on the field and winning in the game of life and going to school and doing your home work !!

According to the publisher of S (heaven forbid if I should mention the football site’s name) the Warriors have offered the JC wide receiver a scholarship contingent that the player receive his AA (?). A review of his transcript is scheduled June 18. It seems that the RB and OC coaches like this player. My take: Considering the number of urgent needs the Warriors have, I would have never have guessed it would be a WR the Warriors would be after. But… wait a second. You know something I just scanned the roster. In the last two seasons the Warriors have recruited 1 (’15)+6(’14) WR’s and 3 have departed (?), 1 is on a mission, 1 switched to DB, leaving 2 WR’s that are untested. So, I guess, in foresight this might be a good move after all (?).
