Saturday sleep-in and match this afternoon

Team had a great time with the dinner at the Doppler winery restaurant. Beautiful place but unfortunately we didn’t get to enjoy the 360 view because of the rain and darkness.
As mentioned previously, think the players enjoyed dressing up for dinner.

Rain is preventing them from doing the ropes course and the alpine slide, both which are closed due to the weather. It’s a bit chilly, in the upper 40s and 50s. supposed to clear up tomorrow.

Been pretty hectic itinerary so team slept in and then had breakfast at 9. they had options to go next door to the indoor swimming pool and sauna. Won’t know if any do until meeting them for lunch in a bit.

After lunch they tape, have serve and pass then match around 3 a.m HST.

It’s supposed to be against the Slovenian junior team but not sure. Things keep changing. The Dras Center is like an athletes village. Currently staying are the Slovenian men’s team and Croatian women’s team. They had discussed playing Croatia but their coach said they weren’t game ready, having just started practices.

And mentioned on previous thread that former UH setter Nejc Zemljak and basketball player Ales Zivanovic came to dinner. it was really nice to reconnect with them. Ales and I shared memories of his playing days during the Anthony Carter/Alika Smith time with our table.

Well off to lunch and match. Internet was down at the training center yesterday, likely due to the weather, rain, thunderstorms and lightning. If I can, I’ll tweet updates.
