Recess

For the first time in nine months, there are no events scheduled on the Manoa campus this week.

But that doesn’t mean the work has stopped. The Warrior coaches continue to recruit here and on the mainland. UH’s first summer session begins next week. The freshmen will participate in the bridge program starting in late June and running to the start of training camp.

The Warriors are scheduled to report on Aug. 4. The first practice is Aug. 5.

Congratulations gigi to your daughter. I have so much more appreciation for PTs since I recently went to one. Was skeptical at first, but she fixed me right up, no recurring pain. I’ve also heard some tell me that becoming a PT is harder than becoming a M.D. You have good reason to be proud.

  24. Don Weir May 18, 2015 1:41 pm

    H-man (from yesterday’s post),
It was an unqualified success. Eric and I set out to bring excitement to Las Vegas for a road trip.
We had an overflow crowd in the Ohana Room at the California Hotel; we raised about $1800 and we gave out a boatload of door prizes via a raffle (Molinari Salami, Cafe Roma Coffee, $100 chip, and much more).

  25. Tiki808 May 18, 2015 1:54 pm

Looks good. I see they all got their paper, graduation. Go get them!

  26. Ipu Man May 18, 2015 2:11 pm

Sorry to hear you have a head cold, Tsai.
Better that than a cold butt or…
    🙂

    I have my Padres.

I have my epic Warriors versus the field bet with a co-worker…

…to tide me over until Rainbow football season.

Six years ago, on the night before the draft, I stated that Stephen Curry should be a top three pick. My opponent responded, “You’re talking out of your ass. He’s not even going to make a roster. You’re just talking gibberish again.”

    This bet is personal.

  28. clyde May 18, 2015 2:56 pm

“Gibberish.” Is that when one isn’t cooperative with NCAA investigators?

Belated congrats to Drs. Tiffany and Mike!

  29. Tiki808 May 18, 2015 3:03 pm

About me: I am 6-0 ft. tall. I graduated in High School on Kaua’i. Waimea, 1988. I played 2 years of football at UCLA before I returned to Oahu. My last 2 years I went to UH to play for Bob Wagner. I completed a 4 year degree in computer Science in 1991, I took one extra year. I work for a computer company. Not bad for a one time college football player in the late 80s and 90s. Now in Honolulu.

  30. jimmy the lock May 18, 2015 3:14 pm

    Tiki808,

You had a typo or is your math not up to par. Computer Science, my eye. 😆

  31. iwonderwhytheyhateme May 18, 2015 3:52 pm

    Tiki,

Never give up on your dreams!…Keep sleeping.

  32. Tiki808 May 18, 2015 4:32 pm

    On another note:

May 30, 2015 Saturday is the start of high school graduation. This will have marked my 27th year after high school graduation. Mines was held on a Friday night. Good luck to all the seniors. High School. Get your diplomas and go to play college football at UH. Earn a 4 year degree. Make it worth your time in college. It’s worth the time and effort. I did it in computers. Waimea High School 1988′

  33. BigFan May 18, 2015 5:02 pm

Tiki, Waimea 1988 class had a former UH volleyball player, Maile Golden. She married Andrew Toeaina. Isn’t their daughter playing for UH basketball? Too lazy to Google, lol.

  34. jm2375 May 18, 2015 5:48 pm

Tiki – #32 – HS graduations have already started. Several, mostly private schools, are this weekend including UHS (go Jr. Bows! 😀 ) and MPI (go Owls!).

BTW, if you plan to give lei to a grad, find out if they are planning on attending Project Grad. No sense spending kala on a flower lei if they aren’t gonna wear it for more than a hour. Screecher only got to wear hers for about 1/2 hr.

  35. Tiki808 May 18, 2015 8:38 pm

BigFan: who is Maile Golden? Never heard of her. LOL. Waimea, Kaua’i 1988. UH volleyball

  36. oneseason May 18, 2015 8:42 pm

Arnold’s lawyer said UH could release Arnold’s response … “We have no objection if other people turn over their copies, but we are not going to be furnishing this to the press.” … I wonder if UH would consider selling copies of the report printed on toilet paper to help Arnold with his legal expenses.

  37. NorthShoreFan May 18, 2015 8:47 pm

    Guud Evening Tsaikos…bootiful evening.

After baseball season, bon dance season. Hoo… teriyaki sticks, saimin, chicken hekka, andagi, shave ice, sushi, hot dogs, fried noodles should keep me busy till football again. Do the food tour of the bon dances.
