Here are key dates for the Warriors:
> Jan. 12 — The first day of UH’s spring semester.
> Jan. 15 — The first day teams may resume bringing in recruits. That basically allows three recruiting weekends before Feb. 4 signing day.

> March 30 — The week the Warriors begin the 15 practices of spring training. For the second consecutive year, the Warriors will spread the practices through April. In 2012 and 2013, the spring training was divided into practices ahead and after spring break.

Thanks for that link Jeezy! It was interesting to read, back in my day, Mt. Sac was still a JC powerhouse, but the real big boy on the block was Pasadena CC. Not one guy on the All American list from PCC?
It seems, back then, at least, that was an exclusive holding pen for a bunch of SC, and some UCLA players, who did not have grades out of high school or had some “legal problems” to take care of…I remember scrimmaging them and they were huge–I thought “this canʻt be a JC–cause if they are, then D1 guys must be literal monsters..”
I think, the days I played against them, they almost 3 dozen guys, from a single squad , go D1. In fact, my old teammate Daryl Ursery (RIP big guy) went to PCC. Oh, for you guys that know “Big Ben” Sesapasara, the promoter, who is on that list, Ben Sespeasara (Weber State, Utah). He is a Halawa boy–actually, his older brother Michael, was a monster, and actually had offers to SC, among others, but sole couldnʻt get the grades. He played with in HS, two guys who started at tackle in the then Pac 8, Gaylord Kuamoo and David Fonoti…and they had a hard time blocking him in high school.
Man, with another sole named, Kosi, who actually went to CAL, and started at center, we had 3 guys who started in the Pac 8–but, we never won more than 4 games—damn, talk about unfulfilled potential???!!
Thanks for that boo. Chip is a classy guy. I won’t be too happy though if he finds a way to get MM8 and turn the duck into an eagle. Gonna be hard for me when the conference game comes up with my ‘Boys.

We, Na Ali’i had very talented players ’78-’80, but no talent or creativity at coaching. Coach Ray Higa couldn’t translate his success at JV to the Varsity level.

Not sure how much a commissioner of the DII conference makes, but I think Bob Hogue would make a great Athletic Director for UH. I’m sure it would be a step down in pay but that conference has sure thrived under his tenure.
Sure hope that someone in upper campus tore off the front page of the Oregon article, made many copies, and gave it to those in upper campus who do not support athletics in making the school a better, enriched experience for all students who attend UH
should also give a copy to all legislators who believe sports is a “non-factor” for UH and the state of Hawaii.
don’t stop there, give a copy to the HVB, hotels, transportation companies, other big and small businesses, and airlines flying to Hawaii who directly benefit from all the visitor spending
further, give a copy to all local athletic directors/coaches with the nudge that it could be Hawaii if more “blue chip” local players stayed home
and post as many copies on upper and lower campus for all students to read
Andrew is correct. Bob Hogue would be a great AD. He knows Hawaii, the media, the legislature and sports. He has been there and done that and understands how to fund raise in DII Hawaii.
aloha everyone !! oh boi we are so slow in posting jobs !! and so fast to let go coaches at times !! so far 28 days and never post the job yet!! the bad part of this is the basketball coach is starting to get notice for other how good UH basketball team is doing so far !! and he is up for grabs !! we are just lucky he loves it here and he love the player he has !!

As the constant subject of funding the program continues I find a few things very interesting. A system that supports 10 campuses, 4200 faculty and some 50k total students. A billion dollar budget—-A pretty good state school with about 25k enrollment with mainly 1 campus 1200 faculty and a budget half of UH does pretty good….Northern Illinois University. Not here to debate academic standing just the economics that obviously disadvantage the Athletic dept. Athletics should be the marketing arm and calling card to attract students far and wide. Sure seems to me that an awful lot of schools have figured this out….bout time the wise Owls in upper campus figure this out. Go Warriors!!!!!
I know its the off season but I think the blog comments are a direct reflection of the interest in the program. 30 comments in a day is not that great.

wonder no more – just look at the dismal won loss record with a very conservative, boring offense and a HC who decided to promote grad assistants to assistant coaches who had very limited knowledge and experience
after 3 years and the HC refuses to make significant coaching or play calling changes to improve the program and success on the field – do we honestly believe that getting better players will be the catalyst to making this a winning program? this would be a pipe dream if there is NO coaching change(s) or play calling!!!!!
this is not, IMHO, a recipe for success
like some very loyal and long time supporters of UH football said after the Rice game – “why are we still supporting UH football with Chow as the HC, conservative/boring plays?” like I posted before the Kauai group went from 2 full buses (that’s 120 people) to 9 on this trip – and 4 people said they might go to the Ohio St and Wisconsin games, but NOT attend the game itself
if Chow does not get it yet, there is no hope for a better 2015!
^ haha seriously. how depressing. Chow should be putting stuff out in the public to at least get fans (or haters) talking about the program. there hasnt been any coaching changes this offseason, meanwhile all the other programs are out there making moves. if not changes, at least confirm the staff is returning in tact.
havent heard a peep from Chow since the season ended.
on top of that, Sione Kauhi and Dylan Collie signed financial aid agreements and Russell Williams signed a LOI. that gives Chow the power to speak on these kids in public. yet, crickets!
Interest in UH football remains fine.
